The UR Astrobiology platform includes:

  • Telescopes SPECULOOS (European observatory of Paranal, Chili ; Observatory of Teide, Tenerife ; Observatoiry of San Pedro Martyr, Mexico)
  • Telescopes TRAPPIST (Chili, Maroc) (shared with UR STAR)
  • Chemical lab for kerogen extraction, preparation of microscopic slides  of organic-walled microfossils and modern analog microorganisms, resin inclusions, and taphonomic experiments
  • FTIR Microspectroscopy lab for analyses of organics, microfossils and minerals (TENSOR 27 and HYPERION 2000 Bruker)
  • Raman Microspectroscopy lab for analyses of organics, microfossils and minerals (Renishaw InVIA)
  • Cell cultures lab
  • Microscopy lab (transmitted, reflected and polarizing light), inverted microscopy for micromanipulation, digital imaging 
  • collection of Precambrian rocks, thin sections and microfossil slides,
  • a spectroscopic database and computers and softwares for analyzes of spectroscopic data

UR Astrobiology members have also access to thin section facilities in the Geology Department, and confocal and electron microscopy at the ULiege platform CAREM
